Onslaught is a collection of seven short stories from the Clan Invasion. Clan Wolf has been left out and the majority of the Clan stories are from the Smoke Jaguar and Ghost Bear fronts. I won't do into much detail since the stories are so short.1.A New Game- Details one of the first few battles between the Combine Clan Smoke Jaguar. This short story exposes how both sides will need to learn how to fight a new kind of war
2.Fourth Form- This story details an engagement between the Smoke Jaguars and the Almunge Infantry Academy. With no mech support, the infantry cadets try desperately to hold off the clan invaders.
3.Double Down- Cadet Mark Harris receives a baptism by fire defending his homeworld against the mysterious invaders know as Clan Jade Falcon.
4.My Father's Sword- Soverzene has fallen to Clan Ghost Bear. Enar Nakamura is desperately trying to find a way for his command to escape the planet, as they are relentlessly pursued by the clanners.
5.The Tools We Serve- Details the mercenary unit Black Omen's defense of Damian against Clan Ghost Bear. Richard Smith(the Black Omen's commander) is faced with some tough decisions about honor and living to fight another day.
6.Superior-Point Commander Kenneth of Clan Smoke Jaguar is tasked with putting down the insurgent resistance on Kabah. A distasteful task for any trueborn warrior. As Kenneth and his point make it deeper into enemy territory, he finds his enemy to be more cunning and enigmatic than he bargained for.
7.Three Points of Pride- The planet of Sheliak had no standing army or militia to challenge Clan Ghost Bear when they arrived in system. In response to the Bear's batchall, the government of Sheliak bid their All-Star Football team as the planet's defense. A fun read for one of the more interesting side notes of the Clan invasion.
Superior was the only disappointing story of the bunch, but a fun read for those who like the Clan Invasion. I like the fact that the stories focus more on the Smoke Jaguar and Ghost Bear invasion corridors, since they did not get as much "face-time" as the Wolves and Falcons in the original novels.

Well worth the three dollars. Entertaining read.
Awesome book I hope more books like this are coming out in the near future
Okay, I won't review MY story, but the rest also kick ass. If you've been away from the BattleTech universe for a while, this collection will remind you why the Clans were such feared opponents during the invasion. My personal favorite is "Fourth Form," but there's not a bad one in the bunch!
A great way to get several points of view during the Clan Invasion years. Many of the main books focus on the big picture, the decision makers, the politicians. This is more of the people actually in the trenches, fighting the fight, dying in scores for the Inner Sphere as well as how many of these common soldiers and mechwarriors dealt with the unstoppable almost mythical Clan equipment.
Okay, as you might have guessed, one of my favorite stories in this anthology of short stories about the Clan Invasion is the story "Three Points of Honor". I laughed out loud when I realized the premise of it, but then, after a second to think it made perfect sense, in a bone crushing fashion. I don't want to spoiler it, so just enjoy the read, Battletech fans. A number of the stories here are about Draconis Combine warriors clashing with the Clans, and it really works well. Good job Catalyst! Highly recommended reading for any Battletech/Mechwarrior fans out there.
Most of these stories where good , however "Superior" was great.

..they played American football the determine the possession of the system. Most ridiculous "Battletech" fiction ever.
Surprisingly good! It’s interesting to read fresh, new Battletech stories written many years after BT’s heyday.
The only thing I did not like is the last story, which is a football sports story. Ugh. Really? Get your stinking football out of my Battletech! I don’t care about first downs, the line of scrimmage, and daring plays. This story doesn’t belong, and sticks out like a sore thumb. Really, really dumb. The other stories are all 5 stars, but -2 stars because of this silly ending story.
